Sr. Production Coordinator and Designer    The Air Line Pilots Association, International (ALPA), the largest airline pilot union in the world and the largest non-governmental aviation safety organization in the world (representing over 61,000 pilots at 38 U.S. and Canadian airlines) seeks an experienced Sr. Production Coordinator and Designer for our Tysons (McLean), Virginia office.  The Sr. Production Coordinator and Designer supports Communications Department management in running an efficient design and production department.  They are responsible for strong quality assurance controls while working with department management and staff to enhance the on-time delivery of high-quality products for internal and external customers.  They will also work side-by-side with other department designers to create products for print and digital use across the Association and work with department staff and external vendors to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products.   Significant responsibilities include, but are not limited to:  - Serving as primary Point of Contact (POC) on jobs coming into the Communications Department: assigns jobs to the appropriate designer/editor in a timely fashion; tracks progress of each job; and, coordinates with client/vendor/purchasing department as necessary. Benefits Specialist     The Air Line Pilots Association, International (ALPA), the largest airline pilot union in the world and the largest non-governmental aviation safety organization in the world seeks a Benefits Specialist for our Toronto, Ontario, office, located in Etobicoke.  ALPA represents more than 61,000 pilots at 38 airlines in Canada and the United States.  The Benefits Specialist helps to develop and implement individual Master Executive Council (MEC) goals by providing professional and technical support to pilots in the understanding of their welfare and retirement benefit programs, including programs such as Defined Contribution Pension Plans, Registered Retirement Savings Plans (RRSPs) and Tax-Free Savings Accounts (TFSAs).  The Benefit Specialist must also possess a strong knowledge of health benefit and welfare plans including employer-sponsored Group Life; Health; Extended Health; Dental; Disability (short-term and long-term); Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D); Critical Illness; and, Health Spending Accounts and Personal Spending Accounts.  Knowledge of Retiree Benefits/Retirement Plans and Employer Stock Purchase Plans (ESPPs) is desired.    The Benefit Specialist must also provide continuity by establishing relationships with company representatives, ALPA staff, and outside service providers such as investment managers, trustees, third party administrators (TPAs), insurance brokers, CPAs, actuaries, and claims adjustors. Communications Specialist     The Air Line Pilots Association, International (ALPA), the largest airline pilot union in the world and the largest non-governmental aviation safety organization in the world (representing over 61,000 pilots at 38 U.S. and Canadian airlines) seeks an experienced Communications Specialist for our office in Atlanta, Georgia.  This position provides communications support to the Delta MEC and occasionally contributes to ALPA-wide communication initiatives.  The Communications Specialist will apply their skills toward the advancement of the Delta Master Executive Council’s (MEC’s) collective bargaining goals and other communications initiatives and work with leaders of the Delta MEC, providing professional support in all areas of communications.  For the ALPA-wide focus, they will occasionally assist the ALPA Communications Department in executing programs and campaigns to advance the interests of all members of the Association and of the piloting profession.   They will assist with writing for Master Executive Council (MEC) communications and will assist in determining the proper development, packaging, placement, and timing of communications that advance specific goals.  The Communications Specialist will also help manage the MEC’s digital media initiatives, including social media, web site, and email management.  The Communications Specialist will assist with and help execute various social media campaigns and strategy.  They will also work with committee and pilot volunteers, assisting them with their communications efforts in the areas of written and electronic publications and social media.   This position coordinates closely with the Strategic Communications Advisor in the Delta MEC office.  They must exercise initiative, build relationships with ALPA’s professional staff and pilot leaders, provide input on communications initiatives,  and ensure that project benchmarks and deadlines are met.  They must also exhibit strong writing, problem-solving, consensus-building, and interpersonal skills in order to establish credibility with the pilots and staff.   Interested applicants are requested to submit online portfolio link(s) showing previous work.   Local, national, and international travel:  5 - 10%.   Minorities, veterans, and people with disabilities are encouraged to apply.
