Labor Relations Counsel        The Air Line Pilots Association, International (ALPA), the largest airline pilot union in the world and the largest non-governmental aviation safety organization in the world (representing over 64,000 pilots at 39 U.S. and Canadian airlines) seeks an experienced Labor Relations Counsel for our office in Dallas – Ft. Worth (Euless), Texas.  Under minimal direct supervision and within the limitations of Association policy, the Labor Relations Counsel provides assistance to pilot governing bodies and to individual members on all subjects that affect their employment.  They use thorough understanding of applicable laws and comprehensive experience in Association policies and procedures to handle an extensive range of complex labor relations assignments, often on short notice, and function as a labor relations professional.  They also provide staff assistance in all phases of negotiating agreements; coordinate all activities during negotiations while concurrently maintaining communication with all interested parties; monitor and administer contracts; manage FAA actions against individual pilots; prepare summaries of NTSB Accident/Incident hearings; handle all case management functions; and, may work on national projects in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. Aviation Safety & Security Staff Engineer   The Air Line Pilots Association, International (ALPA), the largest airline pilot union in the world and the largest non-governmental aviation safety organization in the world (representing over 64,000 pilots at 39 U.S. and Canadian airlines) seeks an experienced Staff Engineer for our McLean, Virginia, office.  The Staff Engineer provides project coordination and subject matter expertise and analysis in support of the activities, programs, and safety initiatives of the Association in the areas of Drones/Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS), Urban Air Mobility (UAM), and Advanced Air Mobility (AAM).  This includes the standards for aircraft design and operational approval of Drone/RPAS/UAM/AAM, as well as security-related issues associated with Drone/RPAS and future UAM/AAM implementation including detection, surveillance, and datalink communications.  They coordinate with and act as liaison between ALPA and appropriate government agencies and the aviation industry, creating and expanding their network of government and industry contacts.  The also develop communications to membership, government, and industry groups on a wide variety of Drone/RPAS and UAM/AAM related and other issues, as needed, and in coordination with relevant Association leadership, committee representatives, and staff.    They represent the Association to government agencies such as the Federal Aviation Administration and Transport Canada, working with the ALPA Aviation Safety Chair and members of the Air Safety Organization (ASO) safety structure, plus other components of the ASO, as needed, to plan and implement the Association’s Drone/RPAS/UAM/AAM policies, initiatives, and goals.  The also support ALPA ASO pilot representatives on relevant internal and external committees and assist in conducting meetings between ALPA and industry/government stakeholders on areas of assigned work.   Local, national, and international travel:  20 - 40%.   ALPA is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to diversity and inclusion in a safe workplace. Supervisor, Finance     The Air Line Pilots Association, International (ALPA), the largest airline pilot union in the world and the largest non-governmental aviation safety organization in the world (representing over 64,000 pilots at 39 U.S. and Canadian airlines) seeks an experienced Supervisor, Member Insurance for our office in Tysons (McLean), Virginia.  As an essential role in the Finance Department, the Supervisor, Finance is responsible for the supervision and guidance of multiple areas including Asset Management, Cash Management, General Ledger, Payroll, Budget & Reporting, and preparation of the Association’s annual audit and ad hoc analytics, inclusive.  They supervise general ledger/financial reporting to ensure accurate and timely recordation of Association activity, as well as that of affiliated organizations, and the reporting of same to management and government authorities.  As such, they are responsible for coordinating, directing, monitoring, and reporting the receipt and processing of a large volume and variety of transactions with members, airlines, and vendors, while overseeing the workflow of the department, tracking progress, and ensuring department and Association objectives are being met.   On an ongoing basis, they support diverse project teams responsible for the successful implementation of Association financial system enhancements, upgrades, and transitions, working with leads to determine best practices and implement the most effective business processes and improve system efficiencies.  This usually requires attendance at related working sessions, generating and evaluating alternatives collaboratively with implementation team members, and participating in validation of migrated data and testing of department processes.   They work closely with management across the Association, in accordance with the Association’s Administrative Manual and Constitution and By-Laws.  In all respects, they work in conjunction with the Comptroller and/or the Director of Finance and Chief Financial Officer (CFO).   Travel:  5 - 10%.     ALPA is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to diversity and inclusion in a safe workplace.
