Recruitment & HRIS Generalist

 

The Air Line Pilots Association, International (ALPA), the largest airline pilot union in the world and the largest non-governmental aviation safety organization in the world (representing over 69,000 pilots at 39 U.S. and Canadian airlines) seeks a Recruitment & HR Generalist for our office in Tysons (McLean), Virginia.  As an integral part of the Human Resources team, the Recruitment & HR Generalist supports both the recruiting and HRIS functions.  They will provide ongoing support for the enterprise recruiting and human resources platforms, including troubleshooting, and administrative and technical support for recruiting and onboarding, compliance reporting, file templates, leave tracking, and performance monitoring.   

 

The successful candidate will be a detail-oriented, problem solver with solid communication skills.

 

Travel:  0 - 2%.

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant area, e.g., Business Administration, Human Resources, or other related discipline, from an accredited college or university required; master’s degree or completion of post-graduate courses a plus; or, the equivalent combination of education and practical experience.
  • Three (3) years of related experience required, five (5) or more strongly preferred.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the role and purpose of the Association strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of ALPA Human Resources policies and procedures preferred.
  • Reporting skills strongly preferred.
  • Solid interpersonal and communication skills, oral and written, for effective and professional interaction with all levels of contacts, internal and external.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as an integral part of a team, work independently on multiple projects, transition easily between projects, and exercise sound judgment in multi-tasking environment.
  • Keen attention to detail while working in a constantly changing environment.
  • Software: Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and SharePoint required.  Experience with data visualizations a plus.

Constantly operates a computer/smartphone/tablet.  Regularly required to maintain a stationary position, move about the office and the local metropolitan area, determine what others have said or written, and converse with others and exchange accurate information.

 

Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, and move about the office and travel (locally and nationally).  Also includes occasional bending, stooping, squatting, and/or pushing and pulling or moving, e.g., to pack, unpack, and/or move cases.

 

Occasionally required to move, raise, reach, and/or retrieve binders, books, boxes, and files up to ten (10) pounds (lbs.).  While on travel, could be responsible to move, raise, reach, and/or retrieve luggage weighing as much as 50 lbs.  (Assistance may not always be available.)
