VEBA Administrative Assistant
The Air Line Pilots Association, International (ALPA), the largest airline pilot union in the world and the largest non-governmental aviation safety organization in the world (representing over 69,000 pilots at 39 U.S. and Canadian airlines) seeks an Administrative Assistant for our Tysons (McLean), Virginia office. The VEBA Administrative Assistant provides administrative support for Member Insurance by responding accurately and efficiently to incoming insurance communications, phone and email, explaining possible solutions and answering questions relating to insurance – benefits, billing, enrollment, claims, and the like – while ensuring members feel supported and valued. They retain accurate records of customer interactions, transactions, comments, and issues; open and distribute incoming mail in accordance with department procedures; assist in maintaining current and up-to-date files, filing and/or purging materials as directed and in accordance with Association policy and procedure and the Document Management Program; and, duplicate, collate, and distribute a variety of documents, as directed. Responsibilities will require regular communications with member pilots, officers, and committees, as well as consultants. Their billing responsibilities are to review member accounts and premiums, make adjustments as directed, and to keep Membership Administration advised of member contact information changes and/or updates.
Travel: 5- 10%.

Occasionally required to move, raise, reach, and/or retrieve binders, boxes, and files up to ten (10) pounds (lbs.). Sporadically and/or while on travel, could be responsible to move, raise, reach, and/or retrieve luggage and/or boxes weighing as much as 50 lbs. (Assistance may not always be available.)
