A/V Information Technology Coordinator
The Air Line Pilots Association, International (ALPA), the largest airline pilot union in the world and the largest non-governmental aviation safety organization in the world (representing over 63,000 pilots at 35 U.S. and Canadian airlines) seeks an experienced Information Technology Coordinator for our Tysons (McLean), Virginia, office. The Information Technology Coordinator keeps the Association’s various Information Technology (IT) and Audio/Visual (A/V) systems operating at maximum potential while ensuring that applications are as responsive as possible. S/he provides both support and analysis for a variety of IT projects and services.
Day-to-day, s/he continually monitors the performance of users’ online information processing systems, responds to any performance-related problems, and works on Association-wide projects involving the evaluation, modification, configuration, development, and/or enhancements of client/server and personal computer and A/V hardware and software. S/he evaluates the usage of client/server systems hardware and software products on a continual basis and recommends new or revised client/server hardware and software requirements and/or additional staff training in order to maintain a cost-efficient architecture.
As well, s/he provides primary support for one or more client/server applications, including any of the following:
Ø Microsoft Windows Servers
Ø Cisco WebEx
Ø Microsoft Exchange
Ø Cisco Networking
Ø Audio/Visual Systems
Ø Storage Technologies
Ø Audio DSP Programming
Ø Office 365
Recurrent responsibilities include, but are not limited to, ensuring that IT staff are provided with accurate and current documentation on all systems of assigned responsibility; revising, implementing, and documenting new technical standards and procedures; and, training IT personnel as well as Association staff and pilot users on all vendor-supplied hardware and software products considered too technical for user development and training, as well as installing, maintaining, upgrading, and supporting specific client/server systems.

Occasionally required to move, raise, reach, and/or retrieve binders, books, boxes, and files up to ten (10) pounds (lbs.). While on travel, could be responsible to move, raise, reach, and/or retrieve luggage weighing as much as 50 lbs. (Assistance may not always be available.)
