Accounts Payable Technical Lead
The Air Line Pilots Association, International (ALPA), the largest airline pilot union in the world and the largest non-governmental aviation safety organization in the world (representing over 59,000 pilots at 33 U.S. and Canadian airlines), seeks an experienced Accounts Payable Technical Lead for our Herndon, Virginia, office. The Accounts Payable Technical Lead prepares detailed, analytical reporting documents from the information generated in the Accounts Payable (A/P) department. In addition, s/he interfaces directly with other departments, including Information Technology & Services (IT) and General Accounting, to design and implement procedures to capture and compile data necessary in report preparation and is responsible for the training of and problem resolution for issues arising out of these processes. S/he is also responsible for writing various Lawson Financial Suite and Infor reports, as requested by department staff.
S/he is the A/P resource person to resolve issues encountered with Lawson Financial Suite, Infor Expense Processing, and the Tableau analytics platform. S/he, working directly with IT to resolve technical issues for the department. Specific areas of responsibility include: every area of functional A/P processing, including all transactions for recording and payment of vendor invoices; member/employee expense reports; member Flight Pay Loss (FPL); monthly department reconciliations; and, the production of the annual 1099 and W-2 tax documents. This also includes corrections to problems in processing Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) payments, i.e., direct deposits, for both members and employees and other special projects that are technical in nature, e.g., Automated Clearing House (ACH) payments to vendors and processing payments from electronic invoices.
